Frequently Asked Questions

When can I register for Spring II 2024 classes?

Registration begins Monday April 15th on our website. Payment is done via etransfer from your financial institution. Payment plans can be accommodated. We will be happy to accept 50% of fee as a deposit to hold your child's spot and the remainder due before the first class. Please enquire.

What can my child expect from your dance classes?

First and foremost, we run a ‘for fun’ dance class. We practice technique, stretching, positions, in some classes structured exercises by the Royal Academy of Ballet or ISTD BUT then we play: we run around, interact with friends, play games, free dance with ribbons, etc.

I stated dance at 9 years old and continued in my 20s and opened a dance studio in my 30s. I strongly believe creating a lifelong appreciation for dance and the arts begins with fun, not strict expectations unrealistic to children of a young age.

Does my child qualify for Advanced Acro?

Advanced Acro is for children aged 9+ or, by invitation, children aged 6-8. For children aged 6-8, skills required for admission to Advanced Acro MUST include handstands, cartwheels, somersaults, and bridge. NEW skills will be developed and mastered as well.

Can my 3 year join a Junior Acro, Ballet or HipHop class?

Children with fulltime daycare experience may benefit from an evening class. Children should be turning 4 within the calendar year, be able to stand in line, take turns and take direction from the instructor.

My child has zero to little dance experience but due to his/her age they would be in the ‘intermediate’ or advanced class?

We are a just for fun dance studio. No experience necessary. We recommend your child go with other children of the same age.

My child is exceling and should be in a ‘higher’ class. Can they enter a class above their age?

Yes, of course. As the class age increase, the children are able to focus for a longer period of time. Therefore, we play less games, focus more on the technique and dance routine. That’s not to say we don’t play sometimes in the older class!!

What if I decide to remove my child after classes have begun?

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds. On a case-by-case bases we may offer families a credit for a pro-rated amount. Deposits for classes, birthday parties, camps, etc. are NON-REFUNDABLE.

May I stay and watch my child dance? Can I leave my child with you during his/her dance class?

Yes to both. We have chairs for adults to watch his/her child’s class but it is not mandatory. If you would prefer to drop off, we are happy to keep your child smiling and dancing throughout his/her class in your absence!!

My child is very shy and may not participate. What can we do?

Sometimes it takes a few classes for a child to feel confident enough to leave his/her grown up during a class. Which is why grown ups are welcome to stay during classes. Numerous children start out by sitting and watching a class and become quite confident after a few classes. My youngest was extremely shy (not like her momma!).
